Marel Norwood PhD, founding director
Marel Norwood has over 30 years of research, teaching, and client practice in the health care and business. Her health care research and client education includes lifestyle and health, integrative medicine, energy and positive psychology, and biofeedback. Marel’s business experience includes management consulting, training evaluations, performance improvement systems, market research, and feasibility studies for both public and private organizations primarily in health care or at Boeing. Among other positions, she has managed a research firm and medical school department, along with multiple projects. She holds a PhD and MS in Social and Organizational Psychology and a BA in Political Science.
Dan Cook MD PhD, knowledge base director
Daniel Cook has over 30 years experience as Research Professor at the University of Washington. He works collaboratively in the departments of Physiology, Biological Structure, and Bio-Informatics to build multi-scale bio-simulations of human physiology and pathology that integrate human biological function from the molecular level to the whole organism. Daniel was part of the DARPA-sponsored Virtual Soldier Project to prototype ontologies of physiology and pathology as the basis for the predicting post-wound diagnostic hypotheses. He is also developing a systems representation and qualitative analysis tool with a biologist-friendly user-interface for drawing molecular players and their interactions. These models can be posted as annotated web-pages and queried qualitatively for cause-effect relations. He holds an MD, a PhD in Physiology & Biophysics, and a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering.
Scott Buesing ND, research and quality control
Scott Buesing has nine years experience in medicine, including medical clinics and private practice and is currently a staff physician at a holistic partial hospitalization mental health center. He has worked with several experimental studies and has extensive experience in critical analysis of medical literature geared toward health and lifestyle practices for optimal wellness. Scott has also given multiple presentations and workshops on mind-body and meditation techniques and lifestyle strategies to maintain health. He conducted the basic research for Health Oneself to date. He holds an ND (Doctorate in Naturopathy) and BS in Electrical Engineering.
Chad Essley, animation and illustration director
Chad Essley is an independent animation director with over 15 years of experience working as a professional animator in the field of commercials, multimedia, and television, including Sesame Street, Microsoft, Leapfrog, VA training films, several edutainment series and several interactive games. Chad has been an animation instructor at several academies and performed served as beta test for a number of animation software services. The work Chad creates has a strong emphasis on original, friendly, quirky characters with a wide range of illustrative style.
Donna Vaudrin EdD, coaching and training director
Donna Vaudrin brings over 30 years of experience and a systems approach of collaborating with organizations to expand effective communication, build productive teams, and enhance both individual and organizational performance. She is trained and experienced in personal and professional coaching, where she helps create shared vision and values, develop leadership skills, resolve conflict, facilitate transition, and create a climate for successful change. Donna holds an EdD in Educational Leadership, emphasis in management and organization development, MS in Counseling Psychology, and BA in Psychology.
Shannon Kavanaugh, sales and marketing
Shannon Kavanaugh is the founder and President of Go-To-Market Strategies, an online resource center that helps companies marketing with sales. Kavanaugh has over 18 years of sales and marketing management experience helping companies achieve big aspirations on limited budgets. Today, Shannon is responsible for the strategic direction and management of Go-To-Market Strategies (with a subscriber-base of over 200,000 sales and marketing professionals and business leaders), is an author of sales and marketing articles, and speaks on sales and marketing topics nationwide. She holds a BA in business.
